Integrated Fishman Electronics

The active amplification system by Fishman® includes an onboard control for volume and one for tone. These are mounted inside of the soundhole for easy access, and this avoids the need to cut a hole in the side of your guitar, maximizing performance.

PORT TECHNOLOGY

Acoustic guitar design has not changed significantly since the pre-World War II era. For several years now, the Michael Kelly team has been working on a fresh new approach to acoustic guitars. This has culminated with the development of the new Port Technology. At the core of this innovation is an offset soundhole approach coupled with an all new bracing design. Traditional soundhole placement interrupts a potentially potent “soundboard” area located between the neck and the bridge. By relocating the soundhole, Michael Kelly was able to bring this area to life, providing a louder and more resonate overall top performance. This performance enhancement is especially evident on models with integrated electronics where the added resonance collaborates with the bridge mounted piezo for undeniably better results.

Mod Shop Forte Port Exotic JE

Style. Substance. Convenience.

The Mod Shop Forte Port Exotic JE is a full-size acoustic/electric guitar with a striking Java ebony top and dragonfly fretboard inlay. The instrument boasts an impressive full sound and tone thanks to the special bracing pattern used in the guitar. This offset port technology moves the soundhole to create an uninterrupted soundboard between the neck and bridge for more volume and a richer timbre.

The side port lets the player hear what the audience hears, acting as a personal monitor. The Mod Shop Forte Port Exotic JE can dial in a precise sound with the Fishman Presys Blend preamp built into the body, letting you mix the built-in internal microphone and the S-Core pickup to capture the natural warmth and tone of the instrument in exactly the way that you want it. Players get easy access to the highest frets with the Michael Kelly Forte cutaway body shape, while Grover tuning keys keep you in tune and the Zero
Pin Bridge means string changes are quick and effortless.
